At a time when the will to defend and the will to resist are again decisive in Europe, OSS Gjefsjoen, together with Norwegian and American friends and Gjefsjøen mountain farm, has marked 77 years since the struggle for freedom and democracy had to be fought in Trøndelag mountains. A wreath dedicated to “The spirit of resistance” with 12 roses for the dead soldiers was laid on Plukkutjønnfjellet, together with an extra rose for fallen comrades. Carl Colby, son of the then Major and leader of Operasjon Rype, William Colby, attended as a guest of honor and was allowed to visit the headquarters for the events of the war. The Americans got to experience normal Trøndelag weather and beautiful mountains, as well as test their skiing together with veterans and other friends. Both at Gjefsjøen mountain farm and with a visit to Gaundalen Fjellgård, they got to experience a lot of nature and stories from both wartime and other mountain farm life.
