A trip there is an experience in itself. Only the trip to get to the mountain farms will be able to provide great nature experiences, and when you arrive you will be able to experience how mountain farming has been run through history and is still run today.<\/p>\n<p>The Gjefsj\u00f8en mountain farm is located close to the border with Sweden by the fish-rich lake Gjevsj\u00f8en and Bl\u00e5fjella-Skj\u00e6kerfjella National Park on several sides. S\u00f8ndre and Nordre Gjevsj\u00f8hatt (936 and 975 meters) are characteristic mountains not far from the farm. Further east is the Bl\u00e5fjella mountains in the neighboring municipality of Lierne, where Bl\u00e5fjellhatten and Midtiklumpen rise around 1330 meters. Yards and cultural landscapes testify to several hundred years of traditions with farming as well as fishing and hunting. Traditions that are still maintained by those who live there today.<\/p>\n<p>In the last months of the war in 1945, Gjevsj\u00f8en was a central place in connection with the sabotage operation Rype. The saboteurs had their base on the mountain farm. Gjefsj\u00f8en Mountain Farm was a central location as part of the sabotage operation &#8220;Operasjon Rype&#8221;. The saboteurs had their headquarter at the farm. Operasjon Rype&#8217;s mission was to sabotage the railroad through Tr\u00f8ndelag and Sn\u00e5sa. Today Home Guard&#8217;s task force &#8220;Rype&#8221; is named after the operation.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/gjefsjo.no\/en\/operasjon-rype\/\" target=\"_self\">Read more about operasjon rype<\/a>\n\t<p>Restoring of Operasjon Rype&#8217;s headquarter<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tOSS Gjefsj\u00f8en\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The building which was headquarter for Operation Rype was in bad shape after standing empty for years. OSS Gjefsj\u00f8en are now restoring the building.\u00a0The association OSS Gjefsj\u00f8en will convey the story of Operasjon Rype which in the final phase of World War II operated from its base on Gjefsj\u00f8en mountain farm.
